Rise and Fall of THC Carts| A Cautionary Tale of The Importance Of Pesticide Testing

Welcome back to, "High Bros Culture" let's take a journey through the wild world of THC dab carts. You know, those little cartridges that took the cannabis scene by storm. They're compact, discreet, and pack a punch. But, as the saying goes, not all that glitters is gold. The rise of these street carts has been a bit of a rollercoaster, especially when it comes to quality and safety. So, roll one up and let's dive into this smoky saga.

The Birth of THC "Dab Carts" The cannabis world was all about buds and joints, but then along came THC "dab carts." In the early 2000's Chinese inventor, "Hon Lik" was the first to introduce the modern day vape pen. This would include a battery, atomizer, and a chamber for your hash or oil. They were like a gift from the ganja gods. And it would soon gain the recognition it deserved. In early 2007, these early editions would be released into the United States and completely change cannabis culture as we know it. These little wonders housed potent THC concentrates in a sleek cartridge, and you could puff away without the worries of others noticing. It was a stoner's dream come true, and an idea that would soon conquer the love of both the black market and legal industry.

The Hazy Issues Dab carts made a fast impact and a polarizing movement that would slowly take-over. As the years grew on, so did the market for this "lifestyle" edition. But as the popularity of dab carts soared, so did the number of producers. Seems great, right? The more carts the better!? Well sadly not all of them were playing by the rules. One of the major buzzkills, that would also eventually gain attention of the community was pesticides. These chemicals are in no means, meant for consumption whatsoever. But when misused and poorly under-seen, they ended up in our beloved cannabis plants. And when producers continued efforts on finding cheaper alternatives for concentrate thinners and artificial terpenes, the health of some consumers was severely put at risk. As legalization continued more and more investors with no true passion would consume the market. This would lead to a slippery slope for the legal market. Brand after brand was found failing testing, faking testing, and overall trying their best to maximize profits over patient and user health. This would also lead to a double-edged sword. On one side, you have the companies that are failing to retain top of the line quality-control and ruining the reputation of the cannabis industry for reputable companies. And on the other end, you have the media and anti-cannabis campaigns using these health flaws to further fuel their war on this amazing medicine.

The Quest for Quality Testing Stoners relax, there is no need to fear. Thankfully, some righteous brands realized the importance of keeping our stash and the culture of cannabis safe and clean. There are many companies around that still maintain very strict quality control and testing. And due too frequent media outrage, many companies will follow suit. Think of it as a safety net for us stoners. As long as companies are not taking short cuts, there should be miniscule amount of room for any wrongdoing in our beloved favorite products. These tests will provide that layer of protection, so we don't run into any nasty surprises like pesticides, heavy metals, or weird chemicals left in our favorite go to cartridge.
